When will braces stop hurting?
I have metal braces and they hurt a whole lot. I am afraid to put on the wax because I know I will mess up my braces. I have been taking every single pain Relief medicine every made and it will not stop hurting. I have braces on top and bottom. Please give me nice advice. Not any bad or rude comments. I appreciate your help!
It varies a bit from person to person…a bit like any pain.
If the pain is still absolutely unbearable after a week then call the orthodontist and they may be able to help you.
In the mean time I’m afraid you’ll just have to grin and bear it (if you pardon the slight pun there).
Your mouth needs a little while to get used to the braces being there. You may find that you develop a few ulcers.
Again how soon you will be able to chew normally varies from person to person…for me it was a couple of weeks…for my brother it was the same day.
If you are really having troubles contact your orthodontist and see what they say.
