TTC: Am I crazy for asking this? Are HCG & LH Hormones similar…?

My ovulation strips were strong the 28th/29th … My husband & I made love beforehand and after.

no, the two hormones are totally different things.

For the most part it is safe to test as soon as 10 dpo (days past ovulation) and get a positive result (may be a very light line). i would say its time to get some tests and i would take one today because it looks like you are around 10dpo. But dont be upset if it is a negative. If it is, wait 2 days (HCG levels double every two days) then check again.

If you dont want to spend a lot of money just to see a negative you should go to dollar general and go to the counter and ask them for like 5 of their $1 HPT’s. Their HPT’s detect at 25miu which is the same as first response (keep in mind that for first response they did tests and it detected as low as 12.5miu but the box still says 25miu to be safe) but first response is technically a better test.

Anyway i think its defiantly time to start testing but the LH test isn’t valid.
